Sugar Plum Dreamin'

2008 by Brenda Colleen Leyland

Imagination is a wonderful gift. How else would those kids in The Night Before Christmas have had visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads! You can just feel the excitement and anticipation. Talk about sweet dreams. Oh, to have such wondrous pleasures even now that we're grown up.

But it's not too late for us. Maybe we're not dreaming about sugar plums, but each one of us carries secret wishes and dreams that need the gift of our imagination. We need to allow the eyes of our heart to envision possibilities before they exist. Walt Disney apparently first said it, 'If you can dream it, you can do it.' He also went on to say, 'Always remember that this whole thing was started with a dream and a mouse.'

So while your kids dream about 'sugar plum' ipods and the latest video games this Christmas, why not dream and imagine your own sugar plum visions for yourself. What do you want? If folks like Walt Disney can dream a dream and do it, it's possible for us too.

Happy Sugar Plum Dreamin'!
Brenda

PS. I found an interesting recipe for sugar plums. To see it, click here.

Brenda,

Thank you SO much for this reminder that I really needed today. Walt Disney is a personal hero of mine so your mention of him makes your message even more meaningful for me. Thank you!

Thanks everyone for dropping by once again....

Lin, I'm with you, let's go-al get it!

Cindy, Wow! I love hearing that my words touched you...I love knowing that something I say brings refreshment to others. Now your words encourage me....

Come to think of it, affirming and encouraging words are like hugs, only with letters instead of arms!
